R. U. Ready Electronics introduces an
Infra Red Beam to work in conjunction with our proven
Display.
The following are the
features and uses of the Beam.
The Beam consists of two parts, the
Receiver and Wireless Transmitter.
The Transmitter sends a narrow
invisible Infra Red Beam to the Receiver on a continuous bases. Any
interruption of the Beam between the Transmitter and Receiver sends a code to
the Display that can be used to start or stop the Display program. The Receiver
is plugged into the RJ11 Connector on the bottom of the Display with the
15-Meter (50 Feet) cable included. The remote transmitter is a wireless
connection between the transmitter and receiver. Both the transmitter and
receiver have standard tripod screw mounts for attachment to photo style
tripods and both use individual 9 VDC alkaline batteries. The Receiver shares
the power of the Display and can also be used in conjunction with the 110 Volt
AC adapter.
Alignment between the Transmitter and
Receiver is accomplished by first turning on the Transmitter and positioning it
in a location from 1 to 18 Meters (3 to 50 Feet) from the Receiver. Plug the
Beam into the RJ9 Connector located on the bottom of the Display and turn the
main switch on the Display, to on. Point the Receiver at the Transmitter, when
alignment is correct a red LED on the back of the Receiver will go out
indicating alignment. No further setup is required.
Uses;
Stand alone Display with one Beam and
the same entrance and exit for the event.
With the receiver and transmitter turned
on and aligned as above. The Display will cycle, first displaying
"rdy" on the Display and then "0.000". Passing between the
Transmitter and Receiver will start the clock running. Passing through the
Transmitter and Receiver will stop the clock running. Take note of the time and
20 seconds later the Display will cycle again and is now ready for the next
competitor or run. Note failure to make note of the finish time within the
20-second window will cause the loss of the finish time.
Display with two Beams with different
entrances and exits for the event.
Plug the optional Y Connector into the
Display and then the start Beam into one side of the Y Connector. Layout the
required length of optional cable to the finish location and plug the cable
into the second outlet on the Y connector and the back of the remote receiver.
Turn the main switch on the Display to on. Point the Receiver at the
Transmitter, when alignment is correct a red LED will go out on the back of the
Receiver indicating alignment. Align the remote Beam in the same manner. No
further setup is required. Note: An optional Manual Start or Stop switch
can be substituted for either the start or stop location.
